Service Agreement & Terms
Everything we agree on, in plain language — so your day is calm and there are no surprises.
1. Booking & securing your date
A 50% booking fee secures your date and confirms your booking. We keep it flexible: if 50% isn’t comfortable upfront, pay 25% now to hold the date with the remaining 25% on a date we agree (or together with the balance) — or settle in full if you’d prefer. Until the booking fee is received, your date stays open to other enquiries.
The balance is due no later than 14 working days before your wedding, by EFT. If the balance isn’t received in time, we may treat the booking as cancelled.
2. The trial
Your trial is the heart of the experience — a relaxed, by-appointment session at one of our studios (we don’t travel for trials). We’ll shape your look together; bring inspiration images, any hair pieces or your veil, and come with clean, moisturised skin. Trials are usually held a few weeks to a month before the wedding.
3. Travel
On your wedding day, we come to you. Travel is free within 40 km round trip of our La Montagne studio (242 Frangipani Street, Pretoria), then R7 per km (round trip) beyond that. Weddings more than 200 km one way are destination weddings, quoted individually; where an overnight stay is required, the client provides a minimum of two nights’ accommodation (3-star or better) or an agreed accommodation fee.
4. Your bridal party & additional artists
Makeup and hair are priced per person and by hair length — so you only pay for the looks you actually need. For larger parties, additional artists join the morning so everyone is ready, calm and on time; for our standard packages their time is already included in the per-person prices, so there’s no separate “assistant” surcharge. If you’d like an extra artist purely to shorten the getting-ready window, we can add one on request at R850 per artist. Your final team and figures are confirmed in your quote and signed agreement.
5. On the day
We’ll send a detailed time schedule the week before. Please allow the time indicated for each service. Overtime caused by client-side delays is charged at R250 per 30 minutes. Please let us know in advance if no food or refreshments will be available for the team, so we can plan.
6. Changes, postponements & cancellations
Postponement: one free postponement to a weekday is allowed. A weekend postponement carries a R1 000 fee, as does each further postponement — subject to availability on the new date.
Changed your mind early? If you cancel within 30 days of paying your booking fee (and your wedding isn’t inside that window), we’ll refund the booking fee in full.
Cancellation by you (after that): because we reserve your date and turn other brides away, cancellations are charged on a sliding scale by the notice you give before the wedding [scale confirmed against your signed agreement]:
- 6 months or more before — 50% of the total
- 3 months before — 60%
- 2 months before — 75%
- 30 days or less before — 100%
Your booking fee counts towards these amounts. A booking that has already been postponed to a new date is non-refundable if later cancelled.
Cancellation by us (rare — illness or emergency): we’ll do everything to arrange a qualified replacement from our team of nine; if we genuinely can’t, you receive a full refund of everything paid.
7. Skin, allergies & comfort
Please disclose any allergies, sensitivities or skin conditions when you enquire and again at your trial, so we can patch-test and choose suitable products. Your comfort and safety come first.
8. Photography & your images
We love sharing our work. We only use images of you publicly with your permission, and we credit the photographer. You can ask us not to use your images, or to remove them, at any time.
9. Promotions
Standing offers (such as “book 4+ and the least-expensive look is free”) apply as described at the time of booking and can’t be combined unless stated. Component pricing applies unless a promotion is running. Any promotion describing waived or included travel is always subject to §3 above — destination weddings (more than 200 km one way) are quoted individually regardless of any promotion running at the time, weekday or not.
10. Our care & responsibility
We bring professional, insured artistry and take great care with every face and head of hair. The products we use are professional-grade; reactions are rare, but we can only guard against what we’re told — so we rely on you to share allergies and sensitivities (clause 7). We’re responsible for the services we provide; we aren’t responsible for delays, costs or outcomes caused by information not shared with us, by other suppliers, or by circumstances genuinely beyond our control. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
11. Which law applies
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If something ever goes wrong, let’s talk first — we’ll always try to put it right kindly and fairly before anything formal.
